Overview

AALRR attorneys bring a broad range of talent and decades of experience to our dynamic practice representing independent secular and non-secular schools in matters involving education law, employment, student services, corporate law, real estate, and construction law.  We provide training, legal advice and legal representation to independent schools as well as private childcare centers and after school programs. Our attorneys have decades of experience representing educational institutions, and we provide high quality legal representation in a responsive and focused manner. We understand that that a school is first and foremost a learning environment with its own unique culture and mission to deliver educational services and support in a safe and nurturing environment for students, employees and the families that make up the school community.  We provide responsive and relatable legal services that will help your school, pre-school, childcare center, or after school program thrive while also addressing the individual needs and objectives of each client.

AALRR attorneys are experienced in key areas of law that impact independent schools, including, but not limited to, student privacy, safety and health, discipline, accommodations for disabilities and special needs, employment law, corporate law and legal issues specific to non-profit corporations, negotiating and drafting business contracts, parental rights, policies for students, families and employees, and Title IX (for independent schools receiving federal funding).

AALRR created the benchmark for evaluating, documenting, and improving employee performance—the FRISK® Documentation Model—now used throughout California with both private and public schools.  We provide skilled third-party investigators to help schools respond appropriately to work-place and Title IX complaints, and specialized training for managers and administrators in the areas of mentoring, progressive discipline, school operations, and communications between employees and managers in the workplace.
