Sara Young represents school districts and other educational agencies in all matters, including participating in due process hearings, federal court hearings, and appellate proceedings; overseeing CDE compliance complaints and OCR complaints; handling informal dispute resolutions meetings; preparing settlement agreements; and working with outside counsel to problem solve with District or agency staff and other relevant parties.
Ms. Young’s legal practice is informed by an incredible depth of knowledge of the education sphere. She holds two Master’s degrees, one in Special Education and the other in Education, and a Ph.D. in Education (Educational Policy), and has previously served as a preschool teacher and paraprofessional in a school district in Overland Park, Kansas. Most recently, Ms. Young worked as an Executive Director for Capistrano Unified School District, working on matters pertaining to informal dispute resolution and compliance.
