Principals Workshop
You’re a Principal, Now What?
The ABCs of Legally Compliant and Educationally
Effective Site-Based Leadership
Stepping into the role of principal means navigating much more than the day-to-day operations of a school site. Principals are regularly called upon to make decisions involving students, employees, parents, policies, complaints, and compliance—often with little time to determine the best course of action.
Join AALRR attorneys for this interactive, in-person training designed specifically for school site administrators. Using an easy-to-follow A–E framework, participants will explore some of the most common legal and practical issues principals encounter and gain guidance they can use to make informed decisions, respond effectively to challenging situations, and confidently lead their school communities.
A – Accessibility
What a principal needs to know about the basics of Section 504, the IDEA/IEPs, ADA and web-accessibility.
B – Board Policies

C – Complaints
What a principal needs to know about responding to complaints, including UCP, Bullying, T9, and Complaints Against School Personnel.
D – Discipline
What a principal needs to know about responding to student misbehavior and parent complaints to students records.
