New Program Highlight: AALRR is proud to welcome Jack O'Connell as a guest speaker for our annual School Facilities Workshop. O'Connell is currently a partner with Capitol Advisors Group and previously served two terms as State Superintendent of Public Instruction and twenty years as both a state Senator and Assembly Member. He focused on closing the achievement gap and preparing students for a rapidly changing global economy by holding high standards for all students.

He remains a strong supporter and facilitator of partnerships among schools, businesses, communities, and philanthropies in order to engage all students with challenging, real-world education experiences.

Representatives from the California Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC) Schools Program will also join us for a panel discussion, "Working with DTSC" A Practical Guide to New School Construction and Modernization." The panel will provide practical guidance on DTSC's environmental review and cleanup process, regulatory requirements and timelines, and strategies for helping school construction and modernization projects stay on schedule and within budget.
