Six AALRR Attorneys Named 2019 Super Lawyers

02.01.2019

Six partners at Atkinson, Andelson, Loya, Ruud & Romo (AALRR) were recognized as the top Southern California attorneys in their field by Super Lawyers, a prestigious directory indexing attorneys who exhibit excellence in law. Attorneys honored with a ranking from Super Lawyers undergo a rigorous selection process, including evaluation of peer recognition and professional achievement. Ultimately, just 5% of all lawyers in the state are selected to this list.

AALRR attorneys named to the list this year include Steve Andelson, Edward Ho, Thomas Kovacich, Nate Kowalski, Irma Rodriguez Moisa, and Mark Palin.

“AALRR prides itself on hiring and promoting California’s top legal talent—and these recognitions are a testament to our success,” commented Managing Partner Mark Palin. “I’m honored to appear on this list beside a group of attorneys whose careers are defined by the many successes they’ve delivered on behalf of their clients.”

Steve Andelson is a founding partner of the firm, and has exclusively represented school and community college districts in employment law, personnel and labor relations, collective bargaining, and general public school law for nearly forty years. This is the fifteenth time he’s been named to the Super Lawyers list.

Edward Ho is an accomplished business litigator who represents both individuals and corporations in complex civil litigation matters, including shareholder disputes of closely held corporations, international supply and distribution agreements, fiduciary relationships, and business torts. This is his fifth year of recognition as a Southern California Super Lawyer.

Thomas Kovacich has exclusively represented employers for nearly four decades in all aspects of employment law and labor relations matters. He is an expert in wage and hour including prevailing wage and has successfully defended employers before the Department of Industrial Relations, the U.S. Department of Labor, and in private wage and hour class action lawsuits. This is the eleventh year Mr. Kovacich has been honored by Super Lawyers.

Nate Kowalski is Chair of the firm’s Public Entity Labor and Employment Practice Group. An accomplished litigator who represents employers in both the private and public sectors, he has handled hundreds of complex labor and employment cases and has achieved remarkable results for his clients. This is his seventh year appearing on the list.

Irma Rodríguez Moisa is recognized as one of the top labor and employment lawyers in the state for her outstanding results for her clients in their most complex and sensitive matters. An experienced litigator, labor negotiator, and trial attorney, she handles matters ranging from discrimination, sexual harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, and the First Amendment. She has been recognized as a Super Lawyer every year since 2004.

Mark Palin, the firm’s managing partner, is an elite trial lawyer and an accomplished litigator. He has more than 30 years of experience in business-related litigation, including arbitrations, mediations, class actions, and bench and jury trials. Mr. Palin has litigated cases on behalf of national retailers and other major corporations. His name has appeared on the Super Lawyers list every year over the past decade.
