Mellissa Gallegos represents and advises California school districts, community college districts, and county offices of education in all general education law matters. She has crafted opinion letters, performed legal analysis, assisted with trial preparation, completed workplace investigations, settled workplace discipline matters, and taken an employee discipline case to hearing.
While in law school, Ms. Gallegos was Networking Co-Chair and Co-President with La Raza de Loyola, Treasurer of the Immigration Law Society, and a member of the Public Interest Law Foundation. Ms. Gallegos also served as Production Editor of the Loyola of Los Angeles International and Comparative Law Review. Ms. Gallegos was awarded scholarships from Loyola Law School, the Mexican American Bar Foundation, the Latina Lawyers Bar Association, and the Loyola Marymount Jesuit Community.
As a student, Ms. Gallegos was an intern with the Justice Corps and Stanley Mosk Self-Help Center. She is a Certified Researcher with both WestlawNext and Lexis.

Events & Speaking Engagements
Ms. Gallegos has co-presented on topics such as sexual harassment, mandated reporting, and workplace investigations. She has spoken before an audience of over 400 staff and administrators at a district-wide meeting and has presented at ACSA (Association of California School Administrators) Personnel Academy. She spoke about school safety and the use of technology at the law firm’s Education Technology Conferences.
In addition, Ms. Gallegos was a workshop speaker at the Moreno Valley Unified School District VALOR Latino Family Festival, which aims to encourage students to continue onto higher education. She also participated in the firm’s Student Enrichment Day, speaking about her experiences and giving advice to middle school students who visited the firm, and answering their emails afterward.
