AALRR Welcomes Of Counsel Tivonna Stern to the Firm
Atkinson, Andelson, Loya, Ruud & Romo (AALRR) is pleased to welcome Tivonna Stern as Of Counsel in the Firm’s East Bay and Marin offices, and as a member of the Public Entity Labor and Employment Practice Group. Ms. Stern is a seasoned attorney with over two decades of experience. Prior to joining AALRR, Ms. Stern worked for the County of Alameda for seven years, serving as a Deputy County Counsel, and then Senior Deputy County Counsel. She has also served as in-house counsel for the Oakland City Attorney’s Office, the Roseville City Attorney’s Office, and the Napa County Counsel’s Office.
Ms. Stern represents public employers in all aspects of labor and employment law matters. She has significant experience providing insight and guidance on compliance with federal and state local labor and employment laws, such as the Fair Employment and Housing Act (FEHA), Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Meyers-Milias-Brown Act (Brown Act), conducting and overseeing workplace investigations, and more. Her experience also includes representing agencies in arbitrations, mediations, and disciplinary appeal hearings, as well as advising on issues pertaining to employee performance management and discipline, responses to charges filed with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), California Civil Right Department (CRD), Public Employment Relations Board (PERB), review of policies and procedures, and more.
