Three AALRR Attorneys Named 2020 Northern California Super Lawyers

07.14.2020

Three attorneys at Atkinson, Andelson, Loya, Ruud & Romo (AALRR) were recognized as the top Northern California attorneys in their field by Super Lawyers, a prestigious directory indexing attorneys who exhibit excellence in law. Attorneys honored with a ranking from Super Lawyers undergo a rigorous selection process, including evaluation of peer recognition and professional achievement. Ultimately, just 5% of all lawyers in the state are selected to this list.

AALRR attorneys named to the list this year include Partners Rex Darrell Berry and Laura A. Izon, and Of Counsel Susana P. Solano.

“We are delighted that these attorneys have yet again been recognized for their exceptional work by being named to this list of the nation’s top attorneys. As one of the largest law firms in the state, our clients should feel reassured when choosing AALRR that they are receiving some of the best legal experts in the market,” commented Managing Partner Mark Palin.

Rex Berry brings over three decades’ worth of experience representing clients before federal and state courts, agencies, and arbitration panels. This includes representing employers in wage and hour class actions and other single and multi-plaintiff litigation, restrictive covenant enforcement, employment tort, employee discharge, Title VII, FEHA, FMLA, CFRA, ADEA, and other employment matters. This is the tenth time he’s been named to the Super Lawyers list.

Laura Izon represents and guides a broad constituency of public sector clients with both their labor and employment needs. Ms. Izon is one of the premier labor negotiators in the state and Governors Newsom, Brown and Schwarzenegger have all relied upon her expertise for their collective bargaining needs. In addition to her negotiations practice, Ms. Izon has a robust advice and counsel practice advising her clients on employee discipline, leaves of absence, wage and hour issues, and employee handbooks and personnel policies. Ms. Izon has been recognized as a Super Lawyer each year since 2009.

Susana Solano advises employers and management regarding issues arising out of the employee-employer relationship, including the prevention of employment discrimination, retaliation, harassment, wrongful termination, and wage and hour violations. She assists employers in developing policies and practices that comply with state or federal law and preparing employee handbooks, agreements to arbitrate, class action waivers or employment contracts. She also offers training on wage and hour compliance, medical leaves, accommodations and prevention of discrimination and harassment in the workplace.

Super Lawyers is a rating service of outstanding lawyers from more than 70 practice areas who have attained a high-degree of peer recognition and professional achievement. The patented selection process includes independent research, peer nominations and peer evaluations.
