Breakfast Briefing ~ Certificated Layoffs: Back to Basics and Beyond

11.26.2012
Program: 9:00am - 11:30am
Location: Contra Costa SELPA

After several consecutive years of certificated layoffs, many personnel administrators have extensive experience with the procedural and legal aspects of reductions in force.  At the same time, some administrators are new to the certificated layoff process.  Whether you are experienced or a relative novice, this year’s workshop will have something for everyone.  We will discuss important legal developments since last year, trends in ALJ decisions, including application of the Stockton decision, and anticipated “hot issues” for this year.

As part of its preparation for the workshop, AALRR is asking for advance submissions of questions you want answered!  The workshop will address all questions you ask, and will include an “ask the attorney” panel as part of the presentation for any questions that come up during the workshop.

Participants will leave the briefing with the knowledge they need to protect their agencies, and to take necessary actions to implement reductions in staff.

Atkinson, Andelson, Loya, Ruud & Romo has successfully represented schools, community college districts, and county offices of education in the implementation of certificated layoffs for over thirty years.

We look forward to seeing you at this complimentary briefing and discussion.
