Effective Arbitration Advocacy: Tips and Perspectives from Labor, Management, and an Arbitrator
In this session, we’ll examine the full arbitration process through the perspectives of seasoned labor, management, and
HR representatives, alongside a neutral arbitrator. Designed for HR and labor relations professionals who would like to gain knowledge and a deeper understanding of labor relations, as well as for individuals who manage and navigate the early stages of grievances and disciplinary issues before transitioning matters to arbitration, this session provides practical insights into developing and preparing persuasive cases that resonate with a neutral decision-maker. You’ll learn about the importance of having a “Plan B,” effective issue framing prior to the hearing, understanding the true burdens of proof, navigating evidentiary challenges, and avoiding common pitfalls in arbitration proceedings. You’ll leave this session better able to prepare and present a more persuasive case that aligns with what neutral arbitrators typically find credible and compelling.
