AALRR Partner Eric Riss will join this online core Academy which will focuses on the legal obligations involved in the duty to bargain, determining which issues are subject to bargaining, and effective planning for bargaining:
- Duty to bargain under California law, including:
- Elements of the totality of circumstances test; per se violations including unilateral changes and providing information to unions; effects vs. decision bargaining; remedies for violations of the duty to bargain; and overview of the PERB process.
- Scope of bargaining under California law, including tests for determining mandatory subjects and how these tests apply.
- Rules for drafting labor contract provisions.
- Bargaining preparation and organization.

- CALPELRA certification.
- 7.5 hours of MCLE credit (general) are offered for this Academy program.
