Overview

Jesus Gonzales represents school districts, community colleges, county offices of education, special districts, and other public entities on a wide variety of construction and public law matters. He assists clients in every phase of the public and private construction process, from the initial planning and bidding stages through alternative dispute resolution and/or litigation. 

His services include drafting, reviewing, and negotiating construction contracts, architectural agreements, engineering contracts, construction management agreements, and other professional service agreements. Mr. Gonzales also performs claims analysis and counsels clients on preventative measures, public procurement laws, claim avoidance, insurance and risk management, and compliance with legal requirements. Mr. Gonzales is experienced in the drafting of licenses, leases, easements, and joint use agreements. He handles labor compliance and enforcement issues for owners and contractors. In addition, Mr. Gonzales handles the “close-out” of distressed projects that have multiple stop notice claims, contractor defaults and/or disputes over completion, including delay, punch list, and change order controversies.
