Overview
Dustin Stroeve represents school districts, community college districts, and county offices of education in labor and employment law and in general education matters. Mr. Stroeve provides representation, advice, and counsel on a wide variety of matters, including school board governance, employment discrimination and harassment, Public Records Act compliance, eSports program implementation, student records privacy laws, unfair labor practices, Title IX investigations, decision making, and appeals processes.
Mr. Stroeve has experience drafting and negotiating contracts, including contracts for information technology and student services. He advises clients on issues surrounding educational technology, including copyright laws, artificial intelligence, and campus surveillance. Mr. Stroeve has developed the educational technology practice within our firm and coordinates responses to cutting-edge technological developments in the educational field, including the use of artificial intelligence, cell phone policies, cybersecurity, eSports programs, and copyright infringement.
Mr. Stroeve trains school district employees through presentations on a variety of topics, including artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, copyright and fair use considerations, regulatory compliance, employee discipline, and sexual harassment.
Mr. Stroeve assists private educational agencies with drafting and negotiating contracts for services as well as regulatory compliance.
Mr. Stroeve represents clients in administrative hearings and litigated civil disputes, including tort and wage claims against school districts. Mr. Stroeve has experience defending school districts against class-action lawsuits.
Mr. Stroeve has experience conducting impartial, prompt, thorough, and effective workplace investigations and Title IX investigations.
