AALRR Receives National Diversity Excellence Award for the Third Time

03.06.2017

On March 1, 2017, Atkinson, Andelson, Loya, Ruud & Romo (AALRR) was honored with the 2016 National Diversity Excellence Award. The award was given by Associated Builders and Contractors, Inc. (ABC), a national construction industry trade association representing nearly 21,000 chapter members. It recognizes exemplary diversity leadership, recruitment policies, retention practices, and training and mentoring programs. ABC honors one company in each of four categories; AALRR won the award in the Associate category. This is the third year the firm has won this honor. Media companies Law360 and Chambers and Partners also gave AALRR national recognition this year for its diversity.

AALRR partner Thomas A. Lenz (pictured to the right of Chuck Goodrich, ABC’s 2017 National Chair) accepted the award on behalf of the firm. He remarked, “I am proud to have spent the past 25 years at a law firm known for its high quality, diverse attorneys.” Lenz represents employers in all major industries in the Western United States. He is legal counsel for many ABC California chapters and serves on several committees of the National ABC organization. He also heads AALRR’s Traditional Labor and National Labor Relations Board practices, serves on the Executive Committee of the Labor and Employment Section of the California State Bar, and teaches at the USC Gould School of Law.
