10.25.2016

Paul Loya, a partner at Atkinson, Andelson, Loya, Ruud & Romo (AALRR), was inducted into the Hall of Fame for the Association of Chief Human Resource Officers/Equal Employment Officers (ACHRO/EEO). The award is given to individuals who have made a significant impact on human resource professionals in the California community college system and furthered the cause of ACHRO/EEO. Loya is one of only four people to ever receive this honor.

Linda Bean, Past President of ACHRO/EEO and Vice President of Human Resources at El Camino College, presented the award to Loya on October 19th in front of more than 200 human resource professionals. Bean called Loya a “tireless supporter of ACHRO” and spoke about his efforts organizing the Community College HR Leadership Academy in Cerritos and his creative methods using games to teach negotiation rules and skills.

In accepting the award, Loya told the audience that he has learned a lot from the people he teaches and trains. “I am honored to receive recognition from a wonderful organization I’ve been involved with for decades,” he said.

Loya is AALRR’s senior partner in the Pleasanton and Sacramento offices. He represents employers as legal counsel and as labor management negotiator and has successfully litigated employee termination cases in federal and state trial and appellate courts.
