Atkinson, Andelson, Loya, Ruud & Romo Welcomes Two New Attorneys to Our Marin Office

Atkinson, Andelson, Loya, Ruud & Romo (AALRR) is pleased to announce that Walter J. R. Traver and Barry D. Hovis have joined our Marin office as partner and of counsel, respectively.

Mr. Traver is a distinguished litigator who holds Martindale-Hubbell’s highest AV Preeminent peer rating with over 30 years of experience in a broad range of fields including banking, investment services, real estate, commercial disputes, FINRA disputes, employment, construction, insurance bad faith, product liability, municipal law and environmental contamination. He has represented banks, savings and loans, broker-dealers, financial advisors, real estate brokers, developers, employers, contractors and other businesses, as well as municipal agencies.
Mr. Hovis also holds Martindale-Hubbell’s highest AV Preeminent peer rating, has been recognized as a top attorney in his field by Super Lawyers 16 times, and has 50 years of experience in litigation, largely for financial institutions. Mr. Hovis has tried over 40 cases to judge or jury and has handled multiple arbitrations. Mr. Hovis has litigated cases involving all types of commercial disputes. His trial experience includes defense of claims of lender liability and breach of fiduciary duty against financial institutions, their officers and directors. He also represents these entities in regulatory proceedings. He has defended numerous class actions and unfair business practice claims. Mr. Hovis has tried claims involving corporate indemnification, employment and CERCLA.
