Since 2004, California employers with 50 or more employees have been required to provide two hours of sexual harassment training and education to all supervisory employees within the first six months of the employee’s employ in a supervisory role.  This training must be repeated every two years. The training is required to include information, guidance and practical examples on the federal and state statutory provisions concerning the prohibition, prevention, correction, and remedying of sexual harassment in the workplace. In 2015, Governor Brown signed AB2053 into law which further mandated the covered employers add “abusive conduct” (anti-bullying) training into the sexual harassment training curriculum.  Effective 2018, training will also be required to include prevention of harassment based on gender identity, gender expression, and sexual orientation.

Complimentary registration to Santa Barbara PDC members.
