Regional Chamber of Commerce ~ "When Discipline & Disability Intersect".

AALRR has partnered with the Regional Chamber of Commerce - San Gabriel Valley to strengthen business by providing monthly Human Resources Seminars. Keep up to date on new legislation, case law and the hottest legal trends affecting businesses today.  HR Seminars usually take place the second Thursday of every month and are conducted by AALRR attorneys Amber Solano & Andres Hurwitz.

The topic for the September Seminar is "When Discipline & Disability Intersect".  Performance management, if done effectively, can minimize the risk of discrimination claims.  Although an employee’s disability may have no bearing on unsatisfactory performance or other misconduct, in many cases it does.  When discipline and disabilities collide, the discipline may run afoul of federal and State disabilities laws.  We will discuss how to properly manage the intersection of disabilities, discipline and documentation while exploring common situations employers encounter.
