Dyslexia affects thousands of students across California schools, yet many educators and administrators are still working to understand how to effectively identify, support, and serve these students. In this webinar, Gabi and Sundee will walk you through:

  • Overview of Dyslexia & the Guidelines – Learn how dyslexia is defined, the different types, common characteristics across age groups, and why specific identification matters for student success.

  • Identifying Students with Dyslexia – Explore universal screening practices beginning in kindergarten, progress monitoring through MTSS/RtI, and steps for conducting individual assessments when appropriate.

  • Tools & Best Practices – Understand the key components of effective screening tools, evidence-based instructional methods, and assessment strategies used by school psychologists, special educators, and reading specialists.

  • Legal & Educational Considerations – Gain insight into the state’s requirements for addressing dyslexia within general and special education settings.
