Education agencies must comply with state and federal statutory and regulatory requirements as to types of documents and information (both electronic and otherwise) they must retain, for how long, under what conditions, and for what purposes. Learn how and why agencies retain records, district/site obligations as “custodian of records,” and tips for avoiding liability with respect to public records requests and litigation, as well as what needs to be in your document/information retention policy.
