A SHARED COMMITMENT TO EQUITY AND INCLUSION

Virtual Training Course Information

Session 1: February 10, 2022 | 11:30-2:00 p.m.

Cultural Sensitivity in the Workplace

Understanding people of different backgrounds and cultures is increasingly important in today’s multicultural work environment. Cultural sensitivity training can help educational institutions increase cultural competency and prevent conflicts that can lead to incidents of discrimination, harassment and retaliation. Administrators will learn what it means to have cultural sensitivity and how to implement culturally sensitive behavior.

Session 2: February 17, 2022 | 11:45-1:45 p.m.

Managing and Addressing Conflicts between Employees in the Workplace

In order to maintain a cooperative and harmonious work environment, administrators and supervisors must be able to quickly and effectively address conflicts that occur between employees in the workplace.  Gain a greater understanding of the common catalysts that lead to conflict, your obligations to take action, as well as specific, appropriate protocols for diffusing, mediating, and resolving workplace conflicts. Implementing these tools in the workplace will help you to provide a better environment for all employees — one in which employees can focus on accomplishing the business of the district.

Session 3: February 24, 2022 | 11:30-12:30 p.m.

Implementing Employment Practices that Support Cultural Competence in the Workplace

Our communities are comprised of a mix of races, ethnicities, religions, sexual orientations, cultures, values and languages. Educational institutions show support for diversity and inclusion, yet claims of discrimination continue to rise. This presentation will assist human resource administrators in implementing policies and expectations to promote cultural competence in the workplace to help defend claims of discrimination and foster a more positive and productive workplace.
