Description:

To positively impact the education of students, board members and the superintendent must work together well. Learn strategies from a seasoned superintendent, an experienced board member, and an education law attorney for defining roles, creating a superintendent contract, maintaining effective communication, developing operational protocols, handling evaluations, and weathering changes and disagreements so that you can successfully build, maintain, and nurture a positive and productive Superintendent-Board Member relationship for the benefit of the district.

Highlights:

Board Members and Superintendents alike will be positively impacted by this program, in that they will gain valuable insight and personal perspectives from seasoned experts in governance who have successfully navigated the delicate balance between the roles of superintendent, board member, and legal counsel.  By the end of the seminar, participants will have tools for establishing operation protocols and effective communication standards; will have an understanding of the common problems that arise in the superintendent-board member relationship and how to address such issues in a positive manner; and have insight as to how to handle evaluations, weather disagreements, and acknowledge positive contributions.
