Overview
Meeti Sudame represents public agencies in all aspects of labor and employment law, providing practical and strategic counsel that helps employers navigate complex workplace issues and achieve their goals. Her practice focuses on litigation in state and federal courts, involving cases of discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and whistleblower claims. Ms. Sudame’s practice also involves workplace investigations, labor arbitrations, and labor relations. Ms. Sudame further provides advice on a broad range of related matters, including employment policies and procedures, employee discipline, grievances, and compliance with state and federal labor laws. She has also successfully represented employers in matters before the Public Employment Relations Board (PERB) and National Labor Relations Board (NLRB), and provides workplace training to assist agencies in evolving legal requirements and fostering legally compliant, productive workplaces.
Prior to joining AALRR, Ms. Sudame served as a Deputy City Attorney for the City of San Francisco and the City of Oakland, where she advised various departments, including human resources, police, fire, and public works. She worked closely with City leadership to develop effective solutions to minimize risk and ensure compliance. Ms. Sudame has also advised various boards and commissions, including the City of Oakland’s Civil Service Board on Brown Act compliance. Her experience working alongside public agency decision-makers gives her a practical understanding of the challenges government employers face and informs her collaborative, client-focused approach to resolving workplace issues.
