Overview
Hillary Chaffin advises and represents employers throughout California in various aspects of labor and employment law, including harassment, discrimination, retaliation, discipline and termination, wage and hour, sick leave, breach of contract, and workplace investigations. Ms. Chaffin represents her clients in state and federal court, arbitration, mediation, and before administrative agencies such as the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the California Department of Fair Employment and Housing, and the California Labor Commissioner’s Office.
Ms. Chaffin also has extensive experience as a business litigator focusing on breach of contract, fraud, business tort claims, and non-competition and non-solicitation litigation.
Ms. Chaffin earned her Juris Doctor from the University of San Diego School of Law where she was a member of the San Diego Journal of Climate and Energy Law and interned with the San Diego County District Attorney’s Office. At graduation, Ms. Chaffin was recognized for completing over 100 hours of pro bono legal service during her law school career.
Prior to attending law school, Ms. Chaffin earned her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Texas at Austin and became a litigation paralegal for three years at an international law firm. During this time, she gained valuable experience while supporting attorneys at trials in federal court, International Trade Commission court, and in arbitration.

After three-week jury trial in Los Angeles Superior Court, obtained defense verdict on claims of disability discrimination against national health care provider
Second-chair in a San Diego Superior Court jury trial, obtaining a complete defense verdict on claims of breach of contract, bad faith, and negligence
