AALRR is offering a breakfast briefing series to prepare facilities and purchasing departments with the tools and knowledge needed to get you through the busy construction contracting season coming up this spring and summer. The series will go over bids, bidding and bid protests, contract language, scheduling, and contractor-related claims.

Date & Topics:
Thursday, March 15, 2018 – Bids and Bidding
This seminar will address issues with bids and bidding—including mistakes, when bids are responsive, and how to handle contractor responsibility issues—and will discuss how to prepare for and handle bid protests. Presenters will also discuss how to avoid legal claims and writs through a clear protest procedure.

Wednesday, April 11, 2018 – General Conditions and Scheduling
This seminar reviews some of the critical new language in the General Conditions and its significance. Presenters will also discuss close-out procedures, termination language, and claims procedures, along with how schedules are coordinated and methods to implement when projects fall behind schedule.

Wednesday, May 16, 2018 – Contract Claims
Claims-oriented contractors and contractors who don’t have their act together have a common theme of making claims on projects. This seminar addresses the best ways to watch for claims and the best way to avoid a lawsuit. Presenters will address alternative dispute methodologies and reviewing claims in light of the recent passage of AB 626.

This breakfast briefing is complimentary.
