Beth Lind is an experienced labor and employment attorney who regularly works with both private and public sector clients.
In the private sector, Ms. Lind has extensive experience representing unionized employers, many of whom are in the Northern California retail food industry. She has assisted with labor negotiations in the context of both single and multi-employer bargaining units, and has acted as employer advocate in grievance proceedings arising under collective bargaining agreements with various unions, including UFCW, SEIU and the Teamsters. She has successfully handled well over a hundred grievance arbitrations arising out of both disciplinary and contract interpretation disputes. She has represented employers before various administrative agencies, including the DFEH, EEOC, NLRB, EDD and the Labor Commissioner. Ms. Lind has also represented employers in state and federal court litigation, including wrongful termination and discrimination lawsuits as well as cross-petitions to vacate and/or confirm arbitration awards.
Similarly, in the public sector, Ms. Lind has represented school districts and county offices of education in various administrative proceedings involving classified and certificated layoffs, unfair labor practice charges, contractual grievances and charges of unlawful discrimination. She regularly advises clients on employee discipline matters and both classified and certificated dismissals. She has sought and obtained restraining orders in situations involving potential workplace violence, and has advised clients on a wide range of topics, involving both contract interpretation and compliance with state and federal leave and anti-discrimination statutes.

Ms. Lind has presented workshops on topics such as special education, the No Child Left Behind Act, managing employee leaves of absence and avoidance of conflicts of interest in the public sector. She has also provided legal updates for the Northern California Human Resource Association (NCHRA), and has addressed the teacher intern program at San Jose State University on the topic of child abuse reporting requirements.
