Samantha Shine McPherson focuses her practice on representing employers in all aspects of employment litigation, including wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and wage and hour and representative actions. She represents clients in state and federal court as well as matters before administrative agencies, such as, the California Labor Commissioner, Department of Fair Employment and Housing, Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, and Department of Industrial Relations.
Ms. McPherson’s practice also includes providing advice and counsel to employers on personnel issues such as hiring, leaves of absence, discipline, and termination. She provides training seminars on a wide variety of topics including harassment prevention, discrimination, and providing workplace accommodations. Most recently, Ms. McPherson conducted trainings for a law firm and local San Diego business with over 50 employees.
Ms. McPherson began her legal career in the San Diego District Attorney’s Office where she second-chaired two felony trials and one misdemeanor trial.While in law school, she was a judicial extern for the Honorable John A. Houston, United States District Court, Southern District of California. She was also the recipient of several scholarships including the Lourine W. Twyman scholarship, the Dean’s Diversity Scholarship, and the California Bar Foundation Diversity Scholarship.
