Employment Law

AALRR attorneys place significant emphasis on proactive client counseling by developing strong working relationships with employers.  Through these solid relationships we strive to simplify complex legal issues, provide practical advice, and limit employer liability.  We find our clients are most concerned with management challenges related to:  wage and hour, leaves of absence, sexual harassment, wrongful termination, discrimination, drug and alcohol testing, and workplace safety and security.  Responding to these concerns, we provide our services through individual consultations, in-house training programs, quarterly breakfast briefings, management alerts, and policy and procedure audits.

We are committed to providing preventative measures to limit liability, and to successfully representing employers throughout all stages of employment litigation.  We are experienced in the handling of arbitrations, mediations, and hearings before administrative boards and agencies, including the United States Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the California Department of Fair Employment and Housing, the United States Department of Labor, California's Division of Labor Standards Enforcement, and the National Labor Relations Board.

Representing management clients on labor issues is the historical core of this law firm. Our labor relations practice covers all aspects of the issues arising between our employer clients, employees, and labor unions. Several of our attorneys formerly practiced at the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB), providing us with the advantage of an insider's perspective. In addition to an extensive NLRB practice, our labor relations work addresses issues and claims arising with all courts and with state and federal administrative agencies handling labor issues.
