AALRR Announces 2019 Equity and Non-Equity Partners

Atkinson, Andelson, Loya, Ruud & Romo (“AALRR”) started the year off on an exciting note with the naming of one new equity partner to the firm, as well as five new non-equity partners.

Marlon Wadlingon is the firm’s newest equity partner. Marlon has an extensive and varied background serving clients in the public sector. He has a wealth of experience representing public entities in employment law, premises liability, negligent supervision, dangerous condition allegations, and litigation arising out of IDEA matters. He has successfully argued cases before state and federal trial courts, as well as the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals and the California Courts of Appeal.

The firm’s new partners are Amy Estrada, Paul McGlocklin, Josh Morrison, Shawn Ogle, and Casandra Secord.

Amy Estrada represents school districts, county offices of education, and community colleges in San Diego, Orange, and Imperial counties. She assists education administrators with a variety of personnel and general education issues, including certificated and classified discipline and dismissal; workplace and student investigations; collective bargaining issues; and discrimination claims.

Paul McGlocklin represents school districts, community college districts and county offices of education, focusing on classified and certificated employment matters and other labor and employment issues. He also handles governance and facilities issues administrative law matters such as PERB hearings, arbitrations, and dismissal proceedings, and any subsequent litigation that may arise.

Joshua Morrison represents California public school districts in all aspects of general education law. His areas of expertise include public employee discipline/dismissal, administrative hearings, matters before the Public Employment Relations Board, petitions for writ of mandate, retirement health benefits, PERS/STRS, and school district audit appeals.

Shawn Ogle is a seasoned litigator in the firm’s Commercial and Complex Litigation Practice Group with a proven history in a broad range of commercial, class action defense, and high-profile trust and estate matters.  Shawn prides himself on his commitment to providing his clients with dedicated service from the initial stage of client counseling and case analysis through trial and the appellate process.

Casandra Secord represents employers in all aspects of employment litigation, including discrimination, harassment, retaliation, failure to accommodate, wrongful termination, and single-plaintiff and class action wage and hour disputes.  She regularly counsels employers and human resources professionals regarding state and federal employment laws and develops strategies to reduce the risk of claims.  She has successfully represented employers in state and federal courts, arbitration, and administrative proceedings.
