James Romo is the firmwide managing partner of Atkinson, Andelson, Loya, Ruud & Romo. Mr. Romo represents school district employers in all aspects of labor relations and employment law matters. He has extensive experience with handling investigations and proceedings before the Department of Fair Employment and Housing, Equal Employment Opportunities Commission, Public Employment Relations Board and Office of Administrative Hearings. Mr. Romo specializes in contract administration, collective bargaining, employee discipline, including certificated and classified dismissals, certificated layoffs, affirmative action requirements and defending employee discrimination claims. He was named by Law & Politics Magazine as one of southern California's "Super Lawyers".

Mr. Romo is a frequent speaker and lecturer to private and public sector employers on all aspects of labor and employment law. He has also published numerous articles in professional and trade journals on such topics as wrongful termination, drug and alcohol testing, documenting employee performance and employee privacy issues.
