AALRR Names New Partners

Cerritos, CA (January 13, 2010)--Atkinson, Andelson, Loya, Ruud & Romo is pleased to announce that John W. Dietrich, managing partner in the firm’s Riverside office has been selected as a shareholder, and Mark W. Thompson, also in the firm’s Riverside office, has become a partner with the firm.

John W. Dietrich, B.A., California State University, San Bernardino; J.D., University of Southern California, Gould School of Law. Mr. Dietrich represents private sector clients, California school districts and community college districts in education law and labor relations matters, focusing on employee discipline and termination, discrimination claims, unfair practice charges, and negotiations.  He also represents clients regarding real property, land use, environmental law, with an emphasis on California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), eminent domain and litigation of real property matters. Prior to law school, Mr. Dietrich was employed in private sector management for 10 years after having served as a Squad Leader and Jumpmaster in the U.S. Army 82nd Airborne Division.

Mark W. Thompson, B.S. California State University, Long Beach; J.D., Whittier Law School. Mr. Thompson represents public school districts in the areas of education law, certificated and classified employee discipline, harassment and discrimination complaints, collective bargaining, labor relations and contract administration.  He also advises on copyright, trademark, licensing and other intellectual property matters. Prior to law school, Mr. Thompson worked as a chemical engineer in the aerospace industry.
